Darryl N Debbie
I am Darryl Warren and as a life long dog owner, I have been involved with training and showing dogs in competitions since 1985. I started competing in the breed ring finishing several champions. Shortly after entering the breed ring, I began training dogs for and competing in obedience. I have finished titles on my own dogs and several clients’ dogs in both the USA and Canada in breed and obedience. I taught obedience classes for my local club beginning in 1987 also worked as an assistant for a private trainer for several years in Limerick, Pennsylvania. In 1991, as a diversion to the stress of utility training, I started my 5-year-old champion and obedience titled cocker spaniel in agility. I was immediately hooked on this fast pace new sport. I have handled cockers spaniels, golden retrievers, and a lab in USDAA, NADAC, AKC and DOCNA trials and be competing in CPE soon. I began teaching agility early in the 90's and was the training director of Keystone Agility Club until moving to Wind Gap, Pa. in 1995.
Debbie Kemmerer joined me teaching classes in the early 90's. Debbie started assisting me in the breed and obedience rings in 1988. She did most of the grooming and foundation training for the breed ring and handled several dogs in both obedience and breed. She has finished dog’s titles in both the USA and Canada. She was very active in showing until the birth of our son. She continues doing the basic obedience work with all of our dogs. I hope that Debbie and our son, Dustin, will both be competing with dogs very soon.
In 1995, Debbie and I started teaching classes in Wind Gap, Pa., which we continue to teach today including, classes in agility, rally, and obedience. We have also both taught dog-related classes at Northampton Community college including agility, rally, obedience and behavior problem classes. Our students have been very successful whether the goal was competing at the higher levels in competitions or just having a better companion at home.
